The Jerk Festival Promises No Jerk Dish Will Taste The Same

Taste and Liquor have rounded up eight of the best British street food traders across the Midlands to champion the regions best loved dish: Jamaican Jerk! However, behind Birmingham’s first Jerk Festival, are the outstading chefs and one who shines like a diamond is St Best Caribbean Caterers.

Churning out exceptional Jamaican Jerk Chicken, which gets finished on a hot smoking grill before it’s generously served with a deep spoonful of rice and peas. It’s everything jerk chicken should be: succulent meat; crispy, fatty, rendered skin that’s been perfectly seasoned to excite but not overwhelm the palate.

For more of a punch, get stuck into their expectional Goat Curry, just the way their Momma makes it. For more of a bite, we love their Jamaican Patties, choose from the standard beef (spicy or mild), chicken, lamb or veg alongside some fried golden nuggets of Plantain, a heavenly side for those in the know.

With only one more day to go, hand’s down Taste and Liquor Jerk Festival showcases some of the city’s best Caribbean Island food!

Taste and Liquor’s Jerk Festival is Birmingham’s first Caribbean Smoke and Fire Festival, at Quantum in Digbeth.

Doors open from 12pm. Family Friendly and Wheerchair accessible. Vegan, Vegetarian and Halal dishes (made on separate drum pans) also available, please ask the traders on the day. For more infomation click here.
