Approved, British Donuts Are In Fact Dumplings, Find Out Why This Saturday!

Who’d thought it, a holey donut is actually a Dumpling! With this in mind we search the UK high-and-low to find the baddest Donut specalist whose Dumpling-Donuts are ‘fan-dabi-umpling-dozi.’

Let’s get our facts straight! A donut is clearly made from a yeast-raised dough, stuffed, and then deep-fried. So at first glance, it does resemble a doughnut pretty closely. But it’s not really a doughnut at all (even though that’s what we’re calling it)—it’s actually a large fried dumpling.

And did you know Doughnuts are a British invention according to historians who have unearthed they were invented by the English upper classes. Americans say they invented them, but the Dutch disagree and have long claimed the squidgy, sugary treats as their own. So tick tick to us! Now let’s move on and talk about our fantastic sticky-sweet and all things nice donuts!

We are dunking donut ‘appy to have The Donut Society joining the line-up, they’ll be banging out the best donuts-pudding combinations that will make you scream: “naughty! but nice!” They’ll be presenting four exceptional dishes for those with a sweet tooth, however be warned: once ordered run away real fast –  hide away in the corner with a coat over your head and your phone torch switched on  –  as these dishes should be eaten alone!

Up first go for The Chocolate Mess (Oreo, Maltesers and Cream with Chocolate and Salted Caramel Sauce) then you must have The Rocky Road (Marshmallows, Choc Chip Cookies Pieces and Cream with Toffee and Chocolate Sauce) and for thirds grab yourself a spoon and get stuck tuck into A Eton Mess (Meringue, Strawberries and Cream with Summer Fruit Coulis) or for those who like it plain go classic with a traditional bag of Sugared Donuts with your coffee – yes we also have an authentic coffee cart serving Cappuccinos, Lattes and more.

But for us we’re making a heavy beeline for Lisst Bizkit with Belgian Lindt Chocolate Ball in the middle topped with warm Nutella, Cookie Dust, Salted  Caramel and a Lotus Biscoff. Yes, you read correct, this is truly being served!

And there you have it, our final fantastic vendor for Taste and Liquor International Dumpling Festival educate your taste buds and explore the journey of the humble dumpling, be it deep (pan) fried, stewed, steamed or stuffed we have it all. Enjoy!
