Birmingham Is Getting Its Very Own Taco And Tequila Festival This Month
Let’s be honest… there is nothing better than some good old tacos and there is nothing that goes better with tacos THAN Tequila! Thankfully for us, Birmingham is getting its own Taco and Tequila Festival! Yet again, Award Winning Taste and Liquor is presenting another brand new festival to the UK in honour of Cinco De Mayo!
The team heading to Quantum in Digbeth for the first annual celebration of the best things in life: Tacos, Tequila, and Mexican Beer.
That’s right: attendees are invited to indulge in original tacos from Mexican street-food traders Chapura and El Contador, and Mexican-inspired dishes from the best local chefs from Oh Burrito and Bare Bone Churros and others on Saturday 18 May. Both traditional and exotic ingredient-stuffed tortillas, nachos and tacos will be smartly paired with tequila bar from the Multi- Award Wining The Plough in Harborne.
Taste and Liquor has collaborated with The Plough in Harborne who will be creating a Boca Grande pop-up bar featuring over 18 international Mescal and Tequila brands and the main bar will be providing a stunning selection of Mexican Beer that will ensure that even the spiciest of tacos go down smooth.
Spend your day sipping on the flavours of Tapatio Blanco Tequilla, Ohco Blanco or Illgegal Mezal…paired with creative twists on pork, beef, chicken, vegetarian dishes and authentic Mexican food.
Not only that, Taco and Tequila festival has also teamed up with El Espolon Blanco Tequila who will be offering all advance ticket holders a free drink on arrival. Made in Los Altos, Mexico, this tequila is a fighter for the forerunning. Espolon Blanco is a young feisty tequila, that demands to be noticed.
In between bites and sips, guests can compete in a pinata hitting contest, show off their dancing moves with some the scene top DJs who will be throwing down the best 80s and 90s beats back to back with some Mexican modern tunes, and more.
