The Plough Harborne Boca Grande Bar joins Taste and Liquor’s Taco and Tequila Festival

Tequila is most often enjoyed in three ways in this country: inside a margarita, as a shot! But tequila is obviously more than just T-shirt fodder; it’s an exalted Mexican spirit that deserves our respect. And there are no better places in Digbeth to enjoy it than at The Plough’s first pop-up Boca Grande Bar at Taste and Liquor’s Taco and Tequila Festival (Saturday 18, May), which house extensive tequila selections (or smaller, handpicked ones), and boast creatively delicious list by just-as-delicious street food.

Like whiskies and brandies, agave spirits – known as either tequila or mezcal depending on where and how they’re produced – are complex beauties, which can varyingly taste smoky, sweet, citrusy or peaty. The Boca Grande Bar has an impressive night-teen-plus tequila list, but what really makes this so masterful is their mezcal selection – there’s a whole world of them to explore, and luckily The Plough are helping us do just that.

Get in the tequila spirit, whether you’re looking for the biggest range, or simply the most fun. And, alright then, maybe a shot or two won’t go to miss as well. Just add tacos, nachos, churros and unashamedly 90’s music and your day is complete and are job is done!

Catch the The Plough Harborne Boca Grande Bar, at Taste and Liquor’s Taco and Tequila Festival. Quantum, Digbeth on Saturday 18 May.  Doors open from 1pm.
