Chak De Phatte!!! Desi-Indian Burgers have arrived! Indico Street Kitchen will be banging out the spice at Taste and Liquor Birmingham Burger Month!
Western influence has made its way to India, and burgers are no exception. The Burger has become a popular in India – combining the American-style burger with traditional Indian spices – and it was only a matter of time it hit British South Asian restaurants here in Birmingham.
Leading the way is Indico Street Kitchen. Soon to be launching in The Mailbox in Birmingham later on this year, Indico in Shirley is one of our cities most popular Indian Street Food restaurants and it’s not hard to see why with, their mouth-watering menu that features everything from great Gol Gappas Bombs to super juicy Lollipop Fried Chicken.
Indico are known for presenting big bold flavours to their dishes, and with lots of Desi Burgers making an regular appearances to their menu, makes this the absolute dream for those who like to spice up their life!
Indico’s Indian Burgers are unbelievably tasty and a real struggle to get into your mouth in one go. One for the alternative burger purists. Their Tawa Burgers comes in three delicious offerings (Vegetarian, Chicken and Fish) served with a generous side of Spicy Masala Fries.
The Ragda Patty Burger (Seasoned Potato Patty on a bed of fresh Greens, Red Onions, Tamarind and Mint Chutney) is ace, but it’s Indigo’s Dirty Malai (Chicken Breast marinated 24 hours in Paprika, Fenugreek, Greek Yoghurt, Garlic and Spices, cooked in a clay oven, finished in Cardamom-Scented Malai Sauce, tossed with Baby Spinach Leaves, Pomegranate, Rose Yoghurt and Roasted Onions) that really makes Taste and Liquor Birmingham Burger Month go WOW!
However it’s Indoco’s Amritsari Machli Burger (Spiced Batter-Fried Cod tossed in Roasted Onions and Chaat Masala served on a bed of fresh Greens and Tamarind Mayonnaise) that can’t be missed, because it is one of the tastiest things you’ll ever eat. Sheer joy in every mouthful.
If that’s not enough, there are Cheesy Masala Fries, Katti Rolls and Tandoori Grills, Curries and tapas style Indian Chaats. Wash them down with some good Indian Beer and this is all you need in life. Our job is done!
