From Jerk Ribs To Jerk Chops, The Jerk Festival Gets Ready To Present The Best Island Flavours This Saturday in Digbeth

We’re excited of trying all dishes from Birmingham’s first Jerk Festival but this Saturday, we promise to help you raise your taste game, with everything from marinades and rubs to cooking with Lamb Chops, Wings and Ribs, Taste and Liquors’ The Jerk Festival will to take your Jerk food experience to the next level.

From Caribbean’s Jamaica to Birmingham, Midlands hottest chef Nyam Food are fascinated by live-fire drum-BBQ’ing. Supercharge your menu with not one but seven island offerings with an experimental Jerk twist. Raking the coals to one side and off the heat as he cooks his meat slow and low – think Jerk: Chicken Wings, Lamb Ribs, Pork Racks and Lamb Chops – with the barbecue lid on, is the secret to this epic menu served with a generous side of Rice and Peas and Hardo Bread.

So what’s his secret? His dishes and marinade overnight, which take on an alternative hit of flavour. He them used a dry rub, brushing them with oil and sprinkling the rub on no more than 20 minutes before cooking to block the smoke penetration that his looking for.

Not only that, on top of this already delicious menu of spice wonder, we have two more  dishes to choose from including a traditional Goat Curry and his secret Vegan Curry (featuring eight vegetables) which will be full of soulfood goodness. What’s more, all dishes above are Halal, however the Pork Racks will be cooked in a separately Jerk Pan.

Taste and Liquor’s Jerk Festival is Birmingham’s first Caribbean Smoke and Fire Festival, at Quantum in Digbeth.
