Tacos. Tequila. Nachos. Churros Embraces Its Mexican Soul.

In the heart of Upper Trinity Street, Digbeth, Mexican food, Mescal and Tequila will claim the streets with the UKs first Tacos and Tequilla Festival on Saturday 18th May.

Chapura Mexican Street Food and El Contador and Mexican-inspired dishes from the best local chefs from Oh Burrito and Bare Bones Churros.

Mexico is one of the best countries in the world for street food! When we’re talking about Mexican street food, tacos are the most important item on the list. To be honest, you could wrap almost anything in a tortilla and call it a taco, so here are some street foods you should definitely indulge in at Taco and Tequila Festival.

Let us introduce you to some of our favourite street treats.

CHAPURA MEXICAN STREET FOOD

Sure, you’ve eaten authentic tacos before, made by a Mexican well step this way as we have the real deal here when it come to Mexican street food,  line-up this way for the fantastic Chapura Mexican Street Food.

Chicken Tinga Braised Spicy Chicken with a delicious special sauce made of

Tomato, onion and chipotle

Cochinita Pibil Traditional Yucatan with shredded pulled pork, marinated

in achiote and orange, served with traditional red onion and habanero sauce

Carne Asada Marinated and grilled beef steak served with onions

Chorizo Pulled Chorizo with pineapple, coriander and onion

Champiñones Al Pastor (v) Garlic mushroom, guajillo chilli and Mexican achiote.

NACHOS

Nacho’s are a clear example that we won’t listen to any advice when it comes to our cravings. Grab a plate and hide in a corner.

BURR EAT OHH

One of our favourite portable Mexican meals, the Burrito is joining the line up, but have you ever had a fusion-styled Jerk Burrito? Well head this way as new trader Burr Eat Ohh will be creating this tasty gem! Bursting with color and flavour, their menu features the two most important words you can use to describe any burrito – “generously filled.”

BURRITO

Grilled BBQ Jerk Chicken, a traditional jerk dry rub seasoning of several spices, such as allspice, cloves, chiles, and thyme

BBQ Chicken, made with shredded chicken, your favorite BBQ sauce, topped with beans, corn or any of your favourite ingredients

Brown-Stew Jackfruit, a hot vegan offering with plenty of flavour and spice

BARE BONES CHURROS

These are hands down the best churros we’ve ever had. Churros are the epitome of sweet street food treats. Served with melted chocolate for dipping, and you’ve got a delicious way to end a Mexican feast.
