Taste and Liquor Jerk Festival will bring you an authentic taste of the island straight to Digbeth.
At the Midlands first Jerk Festival, the focus is on flavor, not frills. Yet Brummie’s don’t need to take a trip to the islands to experience the best spiced, BBQ and slow-cook Caribbean and Jamaican food as on Saturday 10 August, Ayaso Nice Foods will be dishing up stewed, jerked and curried recipes reflecting his culinary heritage.
Keep your eye out for this larger then life Caribbean cook that serves flavourful and well-sized portions. Their slow-cooked menu starts straight on the grill with their classic BBQ Jerk Chicken. Then tantalize your taste buds and chow down on a hearty plate full of Braised Curry Goat, Crispy finger-licking good Jerk Fried Chicken and Jerk Chicken thrown in a wrap.
Other well-noted dishes include their Jamaican Vegan Curry, Fried Fish and Roasted Ackee, Calaloo and Saltfish.
Order with a side of Sweet Deep-Fried Plantain, a spoonful of Slaw, baked Patties, fried Vanilla Dumplings, Jamaican Bread and hot pepper sauce. You’ll find them all here – you are very welcome. Start your experience 12pm sharp!
Taste and Liquor’s Jerk Festival is Birmingham’s first Caribbean Smoke and Fire Festival, at Quantum in Digbeth.
Doors open from 12pm. Family Friendly and Wheerchair accessible. Vegan, Vegetarian and Halal dishes (made on separate drum pans) also available, please ask the traders on the day. For more infomation click here.
